BBQ

I remember when I was in Malaysia, whenever I saw ppl picnic at the public area, I will definately wonder Why they want to picnic over here.....are they feel comfortable with all the pedestrians/ public passing by and looking at them?
And also, I never ever seen ppl Barbeque in the public area, public area I mean is the open field for example. Usually we will only do it in our house compound, or small grass field in the 'Taman' .... Why? Maybe because we 'paiseh' or maybe it is not easy to bring the set up a BBQ set everywhere... Everytime whenever ppl suggesting to have BBQ, then everyone start to have headache....not really many ppl are willing to prepare the stuff and then clean it...for me, i think it involved lots of work and so 'ma fan'

But over here, ppl can have BBQ everywhere they want. NO one will care and no one will stop you. Some do it on the grass beside the road side. It doesn't seem so 'ma fan', instead it is simple and easy. somemore you can bring the BBQ set anywhere you want.

There's this thing call 'portable/ disposable BBQ set. It is a small BBQ set with the charchoal and wax paper and a stand to make it stand on the ground and will not 'burn' the grass that easily.

You can choose any place to BBQ. What you need to be aware is to keep all the stuff off the scene after BBQ, make sure you water off the fire, clean the area and that's it.

So here we go for BBQ in the lovely sunny day!!!

Conclusion: beside sun bathing, picnic and BBQ is another popular yahooooo activities in summer....so lovely :)

La Tasca Spanish restaurant

Went to a Spanish restaurant called 'La Tasca' in Portsmouth.

This is my very first time having spanish food. On Menu, it is written in Spanish (main) and English as explaination beside. I dun really know what to order so we(me and my fren) order a set meal.

Spanish food usually come in small portion. As a set meal, you will get many small portion of food so you could try each of them. We choosed a seafood set meal because I dun eat beef.

The waitress will tell you the name of the dishes in Spanish when they serve, well, definately I do not understand what she said. It was lovely meal. We sat in the outside area of the restaurant (usually no one will sit in this area during winter), under the sun, facing the sea...with some wind and the ferry noise, a bit warm and a bit chilling.....fantastic!

Summer

I never thought that I would like summer this much. I hate hot, hot weather, and hate sweating. But summer is just that nice. You got your sun bathing, yet you did not really sweat a lot.....well, you will end up with the red mark (sun burn mark) on your body, mostly with the shape of the shirt you were wearing that day, but you would not get that burning sensation, not to mention getting heat stroke that easy. That's why everywhere, you see people lying on the grass field, beach...anywhere as long as there's some grasses on. Some of them even with the bikini, on the grass ground in the centre of a town in which vehicle and pedestrian just pass by everyminute and then. No one bother them, and they don't bother anyone.Cool!

Cycling is a common exercise in the summer too.

It is a good time for family, to fosten their relationship. It is really sweet watching them.

一个冬眠的季节

就这样过了一个季节， 冬眠了一个季节。现在的季候，也说不上是春天还是夏天， 听说可能春天还没开始就会进入夏天了？那是什么天气啊？春夏秋冬分不清。我度过了一个没有下雪的冬天，一个下大雪的春天？那天四月，突然就下了一场大雪， 四月飘霜， 人谁也想不到为什么。。。
那就是英国啊！

我的打工旅游生活已经过了好一段时间。 说真的，简简单单的生活还真得很舒服，但是老觉得缺少了什么，看到别人努力地精彩地生活，心里好像很内疚似的。

从一开始就不喜欢 服务业， 也是因为不喜欢服务业，所以才胆怯怯地跑到英国来， 想过一些轻轻松松，自由自在的生活。很意外地，在这里，也投入了服务业。自己本就不是服务别人的料， 所以工作起来还算有点勉强。。每天都在笑，强颜欢笑！ ：）

今年的夏天，从毛毛细雨开始，连续下了好几天。。
我在英国的日子，拥有的这些回忆。。。

四月飘霜-英国天气是不是疯了？这还是近5,6 年来最大的一场雪。

At Gunwharf quays, which is near the old portsmouth harbour, the navy base of the UK. Unfortunately I did not see any handsome navy.

It looks like a haunted house with all the roots climbing. Surprisingly UK got lots of this unique 'design' house.

Meeting Clement's family from switzerland and visited Stonehenge together. It was a crazy freezing days.
The Circus in Bath. All the houses are attached together and forming a circus with a small garden in the middle. Can't take the whole view of it.

Stonehenge is really beautiful and peaceful. This picture was taken just few days before the evacuation work began. So lucky. Overthere, only these stones stand still in a big grass field, nothing surrounding it except some sheep. I think the English heritage is doing their job very well.

大头虾

来到了英国， 很多东西都起了变化。 生活，感情，职业，所遇到的每件事。。

变得和从前不一样。但有一样还是没变， 还是一样地大头虾。。。

求婚记

再过一天，就是我的好友Angi 的结婚登记日。想起去年情人节时，我和vyvy 还是他俩的'求婚见证人' 呢。
话说当天，那24孝男友准备向女友求婚；所以大伙儿就去凑热闹了。我们当时一行人大约就九人吧， 在酒吧里说说笑， 喝喝酒。突然，其中一位男士就拿起就杯说， ‘各位各位， please pay attention, 这里有件事情要宣布' ,（那个无知少女大事到临头还在不知道， 还闹着说，什么事， 什么事， 我猜猜看。。。）, 就扑通一下， 准男友就跪在她面前了，上演了一出非常可笑的求婚记。

这是我第一次见证这种事情， 吓的我心惊胆跳！不过还蛮过瘾的。大庭广众下求婚， 需要很大的勇气耶。其实， 每个女孩都希望被求婚时是浪漫及特别的吧。男士们要多加努力了。
电影里常常出现一些求婚的场面， 比如说：
1. 在热气球上求婚 （青蛙变王子的剧情， 结果发生意外，男主角失忆了， 爱上了别人）
2. 看电影时，把戒指放在popcorn 里，让女友一边吃popcorn 时， 发现了那枚戒指。 （是部韩国片，我在想， 女生会不会不小心把戒指吞了？）
3. 把戒指放在端盘上。烛光晚餐时， 把端盘给捧上，当女生一打开端盘就可发现戒指了。（韩剧红豆女之恋）。 惊喜是惊喜， 但好像太简单了。
4. 在女生的房间窗户下铺满玫瑰花， 拿告示牌等等 （好像是港剧），这需要很大的勇气， 但好像有点老土。

曾经有个男生跟我提过几个他想到的求婚方法。
1. 把戒指结冻在冰块里（就是说把戒指和水放在冰块的模型里后结成冰）， 然后在烛光晚餐时， 把冰块放在红酒里。 （但我担心冰块很快就会溶， 行得通吗？）

2. 把一条绳子绑在女友的手指上（戴戒指的那一根），然后在绳子的另一端套上戒指， 让戒指顺着绳子往下滑到女子的手指上， 然后再帮她戴上戒指。

3. 在摩天轮上求婚。


想想，好像求婚越来越需要学问了，越来越有挑战性了。 还有谁有其他意见啊？

London

I got 2 days off and since I am going to London to renew my passport, so I decided to stay over and go jalan-jalan. Everytime I went to London in the past, I will go with frens, usually depart after 10am (cos got cheap travel card) so will only spend like half a day in London. I did not get to see much things except China town everytime I was in London. So this time, I have seen a little bit much than before...

It is not yet spring but you can see all the signs welcoming spring...flowers bloosom everywhere, animals birds, squirel, swan, pigeon(i am not sure if it is a sign of spring but I seldom see them in winter), greenich garden, new leaves, grasses......oh....feel so good, so sunny, so shinning....

That day, the Queen is in the palace, but her majesty will never come out according to the police man guarding the public. They are all in the blue grayish coat become it can keep them warm. They will change it to the bright red one in the summer.

Tower of London
I did not enter because it was closed (5pm already when i was there), so I just walked around. So romantic the view, it is just nearby the tower bridge. Another side of the tower (back) is facing the Thames river and tower bridge. There are some bench along the river side and the tower, you can actually sit there while anjoying the beauty of the bridge and the tower. Die of romantic....top pak toh place but I seldom see any couple there. well, it is just too cold to pak toh outside now.

Met with Dr.Vini in London. in front of the National Gallery. Have seen several masterpiece such as from Van Gogh,Monet, Leonado Da Vinci etc....

Covent Garden

One of the performer on the street of the Covent Garden. This is the place which is nearby China Town. It is famous with all the branded shops like, very high class and there are some performers or student of arts like to perform here and earn some pocket money. For example the 'crown' in the picture, some playing some drama on the street, dance hip hop, some play with knife while cycling on the 10 feets high cycle(like 杂技）,some bands sing as well. nice!

London eye is always the landmark of london and I always capture it everytime I pass by.

U will see pigeon everywhere in London. It is the city of pigeon and there's even more in Trafalgar square.....everywhere, beside you, where you sit, eat....and they are not afraid of human being.

Visit Chichester

Chichester is a small town about 30 minutes drive from the place I was staying- Portsmouth. According to my fren Eva, it can be considered as a housing area of rich people. So lucky that there t was a car boot sales that day. Car boot sale is just like pasar malam, the 'hawker' bring their good for sales with their car, and open the boots, arrange it and start selling. Very simple and easy..but each of them only have little things to sell. So I am not really sure how's their profit..

New things in life

Liquor coffee, or Irish coffee is a cocktail consisting of hot coffee, Irish Whisky, sugar and a layer of cream floating on top of it. I have heard of it before but never have a chance to try it. And now I got to prepare it. To make Irish coffee, you got to mix the coffee with the whisky, then add sugar and make sure it is totally dissolved. Sugar is essential so that it makes the drink more concentrate and the cream will float on top of it. The most difficult part is to make a nice floating cream layer. Cream tends to sink easily.

The coffee is drunk through the cream layer. I keep practice doing it and this is the one I made for myself. Taste not bad. It is with Tia Maria.

老

提到老， 大家都往脸上看去了， 想到了老人斑， 想到了皱纹。。。

可是我想到的， 是失去了青春的岁月， 失去了年轻的活力， 没有了年轻人的权利。。。

尤其是，当还有许多疯狂的事要做，还想要许多许多的自由， 还想要日夜颠倒的生活， 想要可以通宵的魄力， 疯疯癫癫的朋友 ， 还想要尝试更多的爱情。。。

好像就想停留在青春期，有一段长长的青春期， 久久都不要变老。 但我知道， Anderson 一定又说不可能的啦！

新年愿望

2008 年来得还真快！2000 年时， 觉得2008, 2010， 是很遥远的事。可现在就在眼前了。

许多事情还来不及完成，还不想变老。。。

该怎么办？

为什么到达了一个高峰之后， 我们要下山去镇服另一座高山呢？ 人生为什么要不断向前迈进， 不停地往更高的地方？ 简简单单不好吗？平平淡淡不好吗？一份平淡简单的工作， 平凡的生活， 近乎零的改变， 那样的日子， 好吗？ 满足吗？ 为何不满足？改变是痛苦的， 辛苦的，疲惫的。人生其实可以不必那么匆促。。。是吧？

Pinot Grigio 与英国

寒冷的天气， 保温的绒衣， 一杯Pinot Grigio 和 Bryan Adam 的歌声，现在的我， 还真的处在英国-- 这个距离马来西亚半个地球的国度。 有时走在街上， 吹打在脸上的， 不是温热凉爽的风， 而是‘冰冷’的，就和冰一样冷。 怎会不想念马来西亚？ 想念不必把自己包裹得厚厚的才出门；想念不论你怎么讲我都明白的语言；想念大大型的shopping complex 似模似 样的圣诞节装饰；想念想要出门时可以把车子开了就走， 也不必因为火车延迟而在外忍受刺骨的冷风；想念半夜三更还可以买到Nasi Lemak 的Mamak 档；还有我最爱的Laksa….想念的应该有很多很多吧！

心理上虽然没有多余的挣扎， 但生理上却有着‘无声’的抗议。 首先， 鼻孔一直非常的干燥， 有时还流血；接着身体开始冒起了许多红斑点， 非常粗糙，我美美的皮肤就这样功亏一篑了！:(

虽然生理上有些许抗议，但我总觉得离开是好的。 没有人知道自己的一生会有多长多久； 所以无论是好的， 坏的，Pinot Grigio 或Sauvignon Blanc 我都想一一品尝。。

I am 19!

This week I started to work as a part timer in a takeaway restaurant. Today there's another part timer english boy (18 yrs old) worked together with me. And he wanted to know how old am I. He said " u dun have to tell me, let me guess...you're 19." hahahaha..I was so happy then I said you're wrong. And he said:"so you're 18"..#@$&*speechless
Wahahahaha....after that I told him I was definately older than 19. He said: It couldnt be, you must be kidding. Okay, the most is 21, it is imposibble you're older than 21". I said I am older than 21 he did not believe. When I told him I am 27, he insisted I am cheating him. He keep saying that I was born in the year of Tiger, which is 21 yrs old.
Hahaha.......whatever it is, I am very happy to hear that......so happy.
one more funny things is, I cant really catch what he said because he speakpretty fast and tend to digest some words. So when I ask him what he would like to be, he said: Fireman. I thought he was saying farmer. SO I ask him what kind of farmer you would like to be (like plant vege, rare cow etc), only when he was explaining those firestation, host etc....I realised that he was saying fireman. Sangat malulah

Let's talk about Dubai

Dubai is a small city. I arrived at Dubai in the very early morning 3.05am. However, It took me 2 hours to get through the Immigration checking. I dun understand why are there so many visitors to Dubai, it is as heavy as Singapore Malaysia border custom, so crowded. Once I stepped out the airport , wah, it was so cold, like being in Genting. Actually Dubai is in its winter, but I always think that middle east mah, like Malaysia, winter only mah, the most they have is raining. But the local people told me that some time the temperature can go down to negative. Well, it is morning that the temperature is cold, the rest of the day, it is just like Malaysia, more windy than Malaysia. As long as you stand under the shade, then it is very comfortable.
Dubai airport departure-ppl sleeping everywhere To visit the first destination- Dubai creek park, I took the wrong bus (too many ppl giving different opinion) n got lost…being in the middle of no where. Eventually I decided to go to the second destination- Gold souq. All shops in the gold suoq are selling gold (ofcause lah, you can know from it'sname). Nearly ALL shops selling gold, many many gold, and there's no security guard there. Believe it or not, I was very hungry and looking for a café, it took me very very long time to find a small café.

City: It makes not much different with Bangkok or KL, traffic is super jam, carbon dioxide is super high, workers is everywhere because everywhere is under construction! Huh! There's lots of shopping mall, with pyramid style (like sunway piramid but sunway is nicer), dragon style a long long dragon body structure) etc. I heard ppl said that the animal fur is very cheap here, so many pl come over and buy animal fur………Oh I really hate it. There's lots of beautiful and luxury building in the city, not to mention the emirates tower and the coming soon tallest building, almost all building here has their own style.

People: There are quite a number of people here are migrant workers-Pakistanis,Indian, Philippino, Afghanistan's etc. Some books said it is about 75%, but I think more than that. And I think almost 90% of the population are MALE. You see guys everywhere, on the street, in the bus, on the boat, in the shop…everywhere. So I always find myself alone among a jungle of guys, so depressing. The guy in Dubai is not friendly at all, not even to lady. They seldom wanna talk nicely to you. The outsiders (migrant workers) tend to be more helpful but the most hospital they are, the more they wanna try to take advantage on you, you just got to be careful. So eventually I never wanna talk to any guy in Dubai. The problem is, you really hard to find a lady when you wanna ask somebody to take your photo or asking for direction.

Transport: The transportation is crazy. There's no train system so you end up with taxi or buses. I spent lots of my time waiting for the bus and travelling in the bus. Taxi is very costly, very very costly but it the most common transport. I felt the lady is most protected in the bus. Because there are 12 seat reserved for ladies only just behind the driver seat. No guys are allowed to sit on or stand beside the ladies seat. However, no lady is allowed to board the bus once the seats are all occupied. This is the sad thing, because at night, where there's lots of female passengers in the bus, you have to wait for a bus which has lady seat for you. So you will see many girls are left in the bus stop because not allowed to board the bus.

Burj Al Arab:
I visited twice the hotel. It is not as big as I imagined. To enter to the lobby of the hotel you need to pay 100 dirham. I went to visit Jumeirah beach hotel. This one has the same architecture as Burj Al Arab and are belongs to the same company.

Moody UK

Wau...so lucky I can get online now...curi ppl's unsecured line haha. I am already in the UK. I have manythings to say about Dubai so will write special post about it with the pictures :)

Lets talk about UK. weather here is very moody. always raining...'small small' one, looks so depressing. Surprisingly it is not that cold when it is raining day. But it is really very cold when it is sunny and windy day.The houses here are in old english style..oh I like it. Hehe. Everywhere is in Christmas mood. I cant wait for the christmas. I still dunno how to celebrate it.



I am staying in the upstair room of a bar, with my sister. Yesterday was saturday and there's this live band in the bar. My room is exactly on the top of where the live band is....Oh, I feel like in the live....haha

London Eye

Learning fast

My nephew is about 7 months old right now. My main job during this one month vacation is to play with him-everyday!
From able turning his body only a month ago, now he can 'crawl' already. well, He is not really crawling with the support of his knee on the floor (like crocodile?), he is actually moving his body forward by pushing it with the sole (feet), so it looks like a fish moving forward on the floor..hahaha

He was really get excited once he knew how to crawl and keep moving around everyday. And this day, he tried very hard to "climb" up to a board underneath a small table in the living room. Lying on the board and he doesn't know how to get down. All of us were too bad but watching him instead of assisting him. He tried many methods and eventually he turned his body at 180 degree, and slowly moving down....I dun understand why he wanted to turn his body 180 degree but at least he learned a lesson. from that time on, he crawl up the board everyday and tried many many different and weird methods to get down...Huh, children are learning fast yaa....anything to do with the milk powder containing DHA??

清醒不清醒

I'm very lazy!

人的惰性是天生的吗？ 懒惰的人， 似乎并不是他们不能改变懒惰的习惯， 而是懒惰就像种爱好， 爱不释手， 连想要改变的意愿都没有。

我也是个很懒惰的人。 如果可以， 我希望不必劳碌， 轻轻松松地过活。如果可以， 我希望不想做的事情可以明天才做， 明天的事后天才做。。。我希望每天可以选择性地做我想做的事情，看戏， 吃，喝， 玩， 乐， 睡觉。有时还会连玩也不愿意， 懒惰。 我想，这就是为什么那么多人想要过少奶奶的生活吧！

我， 多么希望我是个认真的人， 认真地生活， 积极， 对每一分每一秒都使用得淋漓尽致。

只是，懒惰就好像是天性，不到5 分钟， 就把意志力给打败了。

朋友说， 那时因为你还没觉悟到， 如果你不懒惰，你的人生会有多大的变化吧！

是吗？不， 好像时不时， 久不久我就会觉悟一下的。。。

嗯，好了， 我‘假假的’也是个有阿Q 精神， 永不轻易放弃的人。 所以， 不论有多少次的 "5分钟热度”， 我也要继续觉悟， 继续认真， 继续5 分钟热度， 然后追加到十分钟热度， 20 分钟热度。。。。看看我的脑袋还请不清醒！
